Along the strip is where the iconic Red Lion Inn is located, which was built in 1773 and captures the heart of the community. Its 17 unique guesthouses and luxurious amenities make it the perfect destination for a weekend away. At the same time, its romantic main dining room with antique China and crystal chandeliers provides an elegant atmosphere for a memorable meal. Sipping a cold beverage in a comfortable rocking chair on its legendary front porch is an absolute must-do. Lost Lamb Patisserie is another staple in the community that locals adore for its menu of authentic French treats, unique sandwiches, homemade soups, fresh coffee, and more. 
 
As far as shopping goes, Stockbridge has a great selection of trendy shops to explore. There are loads of gift shops, such as Williams & Sons Country Store and Charles H. Baldwin & Sons, and many places to shop for home decor, such as Flourish Market. The neighborhood also has a variety of specialty stores, like John R. Sanderson for rare books and Heirlooms Jewelry for stylish accessories. Peace, Love, and Chocolate and Mielke Confections serve up delectable treats for those with a sweet tooth. The town also hosts several markets for groceries and convenience, like the beloved Elm Street Market & Tiffany’s Cafe and the locally-sourced West Stockbridge Farmers Market

There’s never a shortage of fun activities to do for residents and visitors of Stockbridge. Nature enthusiasts adore the picturesque Berkshire Botanical Gardens, which spans 24 acres and contains over 3,000 species. Those with an adventurous spirit enjoy trips to the Housatonic River in the summertime for afternoons of swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and white-water rafting. The Norman Rockwell Museum is a fantastic place to visit, showcasing the world’s most extensive collection of artists' original work and memorabilia on a scenic 36-acre campus. For followers of the Catholic faith or those interested in religious studies, the National Shrine of Divine Mercy is located here, with Divine Mercy Sunday welcoming pilgrims from all over the world to Eden Hill for Mass. When the holidays come around, the festive decorations and activities at Main Street at Christmas fill the neighborhood with joy and cheer. For equestrians, Orleton Farm hosts the Colonial Carriage and Driving Society and has spectacular grounds for riding and social events.
